Maddy is 2 for 2 on contests this year. Mike is afraid she's going to get a thick head.
I received a call from someone on the Reflections board telling me that Maddy won on her literature entry and she would be honored in an assembly next week....but not to tell her so that it would be a surprise to her! It really was a hard secret to keep from her. I was so excited for her!
This morning Mike went into work late and all the kids were curious why he was eating breakfast with them and not at work. He said he had something to do later on. When we arrived at school both Maddy and Jack were excited to see us.
Maddy's excitement was even bigger when her name was called and her project is moving onto the next level (not really sure what that means but I guess we'll get more info on it).
Either way. Congrats Maddy & Jack.
Here are some other pictures Mike snapped. Unfortunately most are blurry. Not sure why.
Maddy also entered in the art entry and so did all these kids. Here are the kids getting their certificate.
Jack either didn't hear his name called or didn't know to go get his certificate. It took my most of the assembly to find him, when he did get his award he was happy. Not bad free gifts either included in the Reflection contest. I'll have to remember that for next year. Also no one entered the drama or dance contest, Maddy and her friend Alli almost did next year for sure!
Way to go Madison!

Wow, your kids are on a roll! I think it is so good for them to put themselves out there and even more fun when they win. Congrats!
Congrats to both of them. You have some talented kiddos!!
Wow! Had no idea! That is terrific! If I remember correctly from my PTA days, after they are selected on the school level, their entry is sent to some next level (when our children were small, it was all the schools in the same city) and then to the school district to be judged with the ones selected from all the other schools. There they will select a certain number that goes on to state, and from there onto national. It is definitely an honor just to represent the school! Way to go, Maddy!
And way to go, Jack! Reflections is always a great thing to take part in because it requires stepping out of comfort zones and doing extra work. I'm so proud that you both chose to do that! Great job!
Great job Maddy!!! And great job both for submitting and working so hard on projects. That's wonderful.
