First Swim Meet

Lexi had her first swim meet in November. She swam in 50 freestyle, back stroke and breast stroke. She was nervous but did so good! It was called a mini meet because it was 11 and under that raced. I've attached her races (hope these videos work the way I'm attaching them).

Lexi was # 3, her coach wanted her to get under 1 minute! She did it. She placed 3rd in her age group for the freestyle!

She was smiling from ear to ear after each race. Some things we learned. Bring a chair to sit on, it's crowded and the bench's fill up fast, bring snacks, silly me thought she won't want to eat to weigh her down. While the races aka heats were short and fast there were also lots of them! Bring things to do, and then more food! I even got hungry. So fun to be swimming under Coach Wekluk' and have Bridgit to gab with while we wait!

Lexi is really enjoying this, some days it's crazy getting her to swim practice 3x a week for 1.5 hours each but we are making it work out. Wednesday's are even crazier because she has tumbling right after swim. BUT she's doing well at all, including at her school  work. Mrs Taylor when I told her at PT Conference that I was frustrated Lexi wasn't getting 100% said, she's missing 1, give her some slack she's doing great. Sometimes, I think they need to be perfect (and sometimes having an older sister that loves to get 100% on anything she does--makes Mom think everyone should be like that). but she's right, I need to cut them some slack and let them grow up and learn. After all, I can't be there to hold their hand and guide them on every thing they do. Last night, we shared our favorite scriptures, I shared mine with my family (and IG/FB) as part of the #LIGHTtheworld challenge. Alma 56:47, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them. If anything I have taught my kids in their short 4, 7, 10, 12 years of life it is to doubt not that God will always help them.

Swim Time

Price's Doors is so close to Seven Peaks that we often come for a night swim after working. It is a win win for everyone, especially on Wednesday's when Grandma Great Price brings donuts! And then Grampa Buddy takes the kids to Costco for lunch. Working in the summer hasn't been that bad! I'm so glad, I was so worried the kids would be so bored without friends to play with and Mom to entertain them.

Lexi and Lilly are taking swim lessons. Same girls taught Maddy and Jack many years ago, they are back twins and back from serving a mission. Sweetest kids, and not an easy job I might add. One make up lesson for Lilly she had 7 rambunctious kids in her class. Usually the classes are 5 kids to 2 teachers.

So happy that Lilly is liking the water. She was so afraid of it, and this year is swimming! So proud of her and love these cute girls that teach her.

We went to use Bill and Steph's pool only to find out that it was closed because someone had pooped in it! So now what, kids choose outdoor pool in Lehi to go swimming at. It was so much fun, giant, had a water slide, climbing wall, 2 diving boards, kiddie area and lots of water space! Mike said this is where he learned how to swim and took swimming lessons. Kindof fun to go to his old stomping grounds.

Jack showing no fears as he jumped off the high dive at the Lehi Outdoor Pool. Lilly loved the water slide and finally figured out she could walk up and down by herself with Dad watching her from below. Mike joined us after work.

We had a great time, almost glad the other pool was closed because the kids had such a great time in this giant pool and with cousins! We swam til pool closed, I picked up some Subway sandwiches we ate them at the the park, then headed to the rest home where Grandma Great is recovering from a fall. She is doing rehab to get stronger and hoping she can come home soon.
Earlier that day and prior to swimming, (7/6) I had a follow up Mammogram. I really wasn't nervous for it, and pretty calm. Our  medical insurance (that we purchased for $850 because we do not have insurance til September with Mike's new job) kicked in July 1st, so it was perfect timing for the follow up appointment. I went right it, didn't breathe like they tell you to, got squished and then had to wait for a radiologist to look at my scans. That's when the fears kicked in,my nerves jumped up a level, I said a quick prayer. It didn't help that my mind had been on my Mom's passing all week long. The Dr came in and said your scans look better, the cysts have subsided and that it was reason to celebrate. He said he'll see me in 6 months just because of my background, but that they look great. Tears fell down my face and he said really go celebrate! I couldn't help but think of anyone I wanted to celebrate more with. I texted Mike and Tif and Steve and they were also relieved. Prayers answered. Spent some time at the Cemetery.

Grateful for this to be off my mind right now, I will admit I am stressed. Mike's job is good but we are still working out finances and budget and life working part time for Mom and preschool and school resuming soon, it is nice to not have this on my worry list anymore. Grateful and thankful!

What a week

We started school, well one of us made it the first day. Poor Maddy and Jack caught hand foot and mouth although they just had bad sore throats and fevers no blisters. Could have been worse. Lexi missed the awesome-ness. Yay for 1! But by the weekend we were ready to roll for basketball. Not sure why I didn't get any photos of Jack playing not that these are great photos anyway. We spend our Saturday's (and Tuesday and Thursday evenings) court side. Love the huddle and bustle and energy these kids have.

Great Grandma Loveridge recently celebrated 90 years. We had a big birthday party for her ( i didn't take a single picture). Mike worked all night literally til 4 am on a video for Grandma honoring her in pictures. It had so many memories and also missing a lot but was fun to look at her through the years. We are so grateful she is around for our children and that we get to see her often.

These are some of the many pictures Mike gathered with our kiddos in them.

Second Sunday in January was stake conference so Lilly's first day as a sunbeam was the 3rd Sunday in January. She was so excited. Didn't care to not go the nursery. She has the cutest teachers and like the smallest class ever.
After sunbeams she ran into relief society to find mom and yelled "I am a child of God" what a doll. Love her.

The kids have been building in their spare time.
Unfortunately the family is melting. But snows expected this weekend. We'll see the last two storms have left only a dusting. Hoping for more snow. It would make a fun off track adventure.

What a week: when kids are off track I tend to run ragged and am always going 100 miles a minute wearing us all out! But that's how we roll.

Recap of the week.
Monday. Martin Luther King day. We went to the Grizzlies game with the Tullis', Mike took a long lunch and meet us there also. Ryan and Jack watched every play. The little girls ate their treat bag I made in like 5 minutes. It was supposed to last the whole game!
During a time out they dropped money from the rafters. Abby got one and the guys behind Lexi gave them there's. Jack got a free drink. To be honest no one watched the game in that time we were all looking up!
That night for fhe we set goals inspired by Camille and talked about having more serious lessons (as Lilly was jumping up and down on the couch:). I taught the lesson and used the picture of Jesus calming the waters and compared us to not having faith and being fearful. We sang Master the tempest is Raging.

Tuesday can't remember today must have been epic! 😉 oh yay new sealants for the kids molars and Costco run. Not much.

Wednesday we worked. It was a long day and the kids were super about being gone all day. It helped that grandma and grandpa took them to costco for lunch and they had the vending machine opened several times to get their sugar fix.

We used our free calendar for dinner and went to chick a fila after ballet while dad was at scouts. Every month we get one freebie this month it was grilled chicken. Not the kids fav. It's like healthy nuggets. Icecream after made up for the healthy part.

Thursday we headed to fashion place mall I use the remainder of our American girl doll gift cards before the store closes next week and return something. The girls love this store. We were hoping it would stay. Maddy got a dog bed for Piper her Dalmatian pup and Lexi for a snorkeling swim set for Olivia her new doll. We played at the Lego store and then headed home for lunch. lexi and Jack played afternoon away - Maddy is missing her Alli who is not off track with us.

Friday we headed to Murray Pool and stayed from 11-4:45.
Lots and lots of friends for mom and kids were there. This one got a little brave (in her life jacket) and left momma's side. When she was climbing out of the pool she searched her leg from her ankle all the way to her swim suit. When going to get bandaid she said I wanna go home.
Later she got brave and went swimming again and had to be dragged out of the pool. Poor little leg super scratched up those cuts hurt the worse too!

We watched Hook and ate popcorn while Dad braved the cold at Klondike!

Saturday we had a birthday party and two basketball games at 11:30, 12&1. With help of friends and grandma and grandpa I saw the kids playing and of course Lilly came along for the ride. Mike even had a good time at Klondike and has a great group of boys. This was his 4th Klondike.
