Little of this and a whole lot of that

We have been here and there and everywhere in between and these are pictures that show what we've been up to in April and May.

BASEBALL--safe to say unless it's raining and sometimes even when it is raining this spring we have lived at the ball fields. I only wish the two ball fields we are always at were a little closer. The corridor gets me there pretty quick but there is road construction everywhere!

This is Jack asking for a time as he gets up to bat. His friend Ryan was playing catcher for the Indian's. And I'm happy to announce Jack's National's team finally had their first victory last week. Now if only the rain would go away we could play more ball!
One Saturday, we had 4 ball games in 4 hours.Jack @ 9,  Maddy @ 10:15, Jack @ 11, Lexi @ 11:30. I even made it to a portion of each of the games. This Saturday the weather was beautiful and almost hot!
Jack is playing accelerated ball and wears the Copper Hills jersey on Saturday's. It has been a great learning experience for him and the extra play has improved his batting average (if he had one that is). He has gotten on base with a hit or a walk every game in the last 2 weeks. Lexi's team is #2, they had their first lost this week to the black team. Maddy's team is in the middle, when she gets up to bat she is very consistent and always gets a hit. I'm so proud of her for trying out for all stars this past weekend in the rain I might add! And it was cold weather on top of it.
Jack plays pitcher and catcher for the National's and usually pitches for CH also a couple innings. He rotates positions for CH but usually plays short stop or 2nd base. This game was also rainy. Poor boys got rained on the 1st game, then the 2nd game the rain came again. They were soaked all through their layers.

Maddy also plays catcher for an inning and then 2nd base.
We lucked out and got put on a team with 2 friends. It has made carpooling to practice and games so much easier for me especially since Jack and Lexi I'm the mom to be for. This is Grace and Alli who we also played basketball with.

Jack loves to steal! He even got himself in a pickle once and almost got tagged out but was able to go back and forth and eventually get to 2nd base.
In 3rd grade you  are given a cabbage to grow and take care of. We planted it and all the rainy weather has been watering it nicely for Jack. We shall see how big his cabbage gets!
Bring your own cup to 7-11 get a slurpee day. So we found our biggest cups and went to get a yummy treat.
Player of the game! He got a free meal to Rumba and a free shake at Riley's.
Sunday after Easter...weather was nice...we pulled out our spring outfits.

rolls. Yum, Mike makes the rolls at our house. We get together once a month with the Loveridge family and Mike is almost always in charge or rolls especially if we eat at our house. And there are almost always No LEFTOVERS. They are so yummy!
This is the cousins playing uno with Aunt Heather after chowing on Sunday dinner. We love Sunday dinners! and every Sunday the kids ask if we are going somewhere to eat, it's a tradition that we love.
More softball. Maddy getting ready to get up to bat.
2 girls riding bikes. We finally pulled the little blue bike down for Lilly to ride. She loves it and is very good about wearing a helmet when she gets on a bike.
So proud of Jack, he accomplished all the requirements and received his wolf award. He is now a Bear and working on those requirements.
Special thanks to Annette for going last minute to the scout shop to buy the awards for Jack. Mike submitted all the paperwork on line only to find out that no one checks the on line submissions.
Jack on his birthday!
Dad setting up Jack's birthday present.
Some pictures Julie took when she came to watch softball/baseball. Lilly lost one of her piggy tales.

Oh ya, my washer died. Mike pulled it apart only to not know what next to do. I said it wasn't worth it. All year he has been telling me we should get a new washer to support our big family since I spend so much time doing laundry. BUT how fun is that purchase? Not fun at all. I wanted a new coach or a new bed not a new washer. So I tell Mike he jinxed the washer--when it stopped spinning.

So we changed things up a big. This is what the house use to look like. Oh we got a new couch too--well new to us couch.

Baseball got rained out so we took a trip to Payson and went through the Payson LDS Temple. We were lucky that the rain missed us while we were standing outside in line but boy was it cold. Mike went back to the car to get our coats. Brent gave his to a little girl in back of us who also was freezing but didn't have a coat. He is so thoughtful and genuine and said he wasn't cold. BUT it was cold!

The temple was gorgeous and I'm glad we made the trip. After we found a Mexican restaurant and enjoyed Mexican lunch. We invited Brent and Julie and they squooze in the afternoon with us. It was the day before Mother's Day and I know Julie spent the rest of the day scrambling for her upcoming busy week. We loved having them join us.
Maddy made dinner. Baked Potato soup. I just walked her through it. She is being so helpful in the kitchen. She even cooked breakfast 2 days last week before school started. She is amazing! I'm so thankful every day for her in my life.
This is my Mother's Day crew. So thankful to be the mom to these 4. While the job is all day all night never stop never a dull moment and I'm always on my toes picking up this or that or cleaning this or cooking that. I wouldn't trade it for the world!
And now for the change! This is our new couch in the family room. My parents got a new couch so we got their "old" but really only "young" coach. It fills up the whole room. The kids love to play with the pillows just as much as they did at G&G's house and pull out the pins! But we love it. Thank you for your generosity.
Downstairs we finally moved all the toys. Jack's basketball stand is down here also. They kids can know make a mess of the toys and I don't have to see it! When it was upstairs in the loft, I always walked past it and it drove me nuts to have the mess! It still drives me nuts downstairs but at least I don't see it!
The girls love coming down here and playing. In the little doorway is the kitchen and table and chairs.

perfect restaurant!
Yep she loves it down here!
In the loft we moved our blue couches up stairs. So we have a movie place to watch a movie when you don't like the movie on in the family room--I'll admit it is almost too much space in this house!
And my new love. Here's my new pricey washing machine. It's an XL maytag and I love it. Never thought doing laundry could be so fun until I have to fold it. I really wanted the matching dryer set but couldn't convince myself it was worth the extra house payment! I'm amazed at how much I can wash in one load. And it guarantees my electrical and water bill will be down compared to the old washer we had. My dryer is 15+ years, let's hope it keeps up with the new washer!
And that's a wrap! BUT i'm always trying to catch up with the blog so until next time.

Wheeler Farm

Lexi had her first Kindergarten field trip in April. We went to Wheeler Farm. I told her I could let one of the other parents go because they only needed 5 from the class but no way she wanted me there and I guess I was needed because I was accepted even when I registered late hoping my spot would be filled. But to my delight, parents were not allowed on the bus (it always gives me a head ache). I hitched a ride with some other moms and had more fun then if I was on the bus anyways. Win Win for both Lexi and I!

The weather was really nice. A light jacket for the bus but then we all took them off to walk around the farm. This was my group. The Orange group.  Payten (Lexi's cousin), Adi, Wyatt (hiding),  Lexi and Greg.

We enjoyed a guided tour of the farm with a tour guide which included a wagon ride, we turned milk into butter, saw horses, cows, pigs, goats, bunny's, chickens, turkeys, birds, geese and lots of new baby animals, enjoyed a snack, and had a great time!
This was Lexi's first time on a a school bus and she was almost excited about a bus ride as she was her first field trip! With permitting to Elk Meadows, we lost our school bus even though we live more than 1.5 miles away. Bummer for no bus but yay for being at the school we love. And driving the kids has been not that bad anyway--gave us 10 extra minutes to get ready and with 3 kids in school and lunches I can always use the extra time.
We met the kids back at the school and headed home to get Lilly from a friend who was watching her. Such a fun day. Really enjoyed having a guided tour of the farm.

Tulip Festival

Jack is playing accelerated ball which means he plays 2 games on Saturday's some are at home at the Ron Wood Complex where he normally plays but some Saturday's we travel to play ball. His away game was in Highland. We decided to hit the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point before the game and kill two birds with one stone! Sad we literally ran through the festival but so glad we stopped to see the flowers.

The winter was so warm that most of the tulips came early--like 2 weeks before the festival even started. BUT we still saw lots and lots of blooms. They have a photo contest so we took lots of pictures to enter the contest but only to find out the contest is already in progress and I just uploaded these today. Dang! Last year Julie won with one of her pictures a free membership. The kids can even enter. So there are lots o pictures from Mike, and me and the kids!

Either way they show off the beautiful spring colors and tulips that I love. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers. Hard to choose a favorite because I love all flowers!

#tuliperfection @thanksgivingpoint

We also had 2 extra's with us. Ashlyn and Karsyn. Bill and Kamryn were at Lagoon and Stephanie had school. We loved having them come along with us.

Maddy's pictures of the bees and flowers

Kids in the rose gardens

Lexi took the orange and yellow and red tulip pictures

I believe these are Jack's pictures. And Lilly took a couple too.

I love the tulips along the walk ways. So thick and with different colors and heights.

 Nice picture Jack!
We quickly left the Gardens after exiting through the mud and stopping to clean up Karsyn (my bad I choose a short cut it had been raining through the week so the mud was out), we drove to Highland for Jack's games.

There was a park but Bill came and took the kids back to his house. The kids really come to just eat anyways and play not really watch much of the game! But so glad they went back the rain came, the thunder came and the snow on the mountain behind us.

The first game was called because the thunder came after it had been raining. So we paused to see if the thunder would go away for the 2nd game. It rained. It kindof let up but the boys were already soaked from the first game.  I only brought one sweatshirt for Jack and it was soaked. BUT I did have one of Lexi's in the car. He didn't care, he wore it--anything to stay warm he was so wet! Spring ball can be rough! Brent and Julie were smart and warmed up in the car between games.

This is me huddled under my red umbrella watching Jack pitch trying to stay warm! I had two blankets on me and my coat. It was so cold!

After the game we got Jack a hot dog and hot chocolate and tried to warm him up. He was so muddy also! We went to Bill and Steph's and enjoyed pizza and then headed home later that night! Crazy spring baseball weather!
