Back 2 School Already???

It's that time of year again!
What already?
Yep, we started school this week. Although, these two are so excited you'd never know they were upset to start.

I went with my friend to drop off the kids at school. We thought there would be huge crowds with the boundary changes, there weren't very many moms at all! Lol, I guess I'm usually one that didn't go on the first day either-except to Kindergarten.

We went to where the grades lined up and found there buddies. Ryan and Jack are in the same class. At Back To School night, there teachers cracked me up. HE, used masking tape and a sharpie to write their names on the folders and the cubby's. Yep, he is using his resources. He has been teaching for 40 years, and is a school wide favorite teacher. These two are so excited to have him. Jack has already come home with awesome stories and jokes from Mr. Lovell.

Boys have already started working on multiplication facts. They have a timed 1 or 2 minute test they have to complete so many problems. These two both passed their 2's yesterday. 3's were a little more tricky for Jack. He was so frustrated doing his (first days) homework but we worked together and he can't wait to work on his 4's, 5's etc. I love multiplication in school!!
Maddy and her bf Alli are also in the same class. They both have other friends and are loving being back to school. I had Maddy stay home and watch the kids when we went to Back To School night and she was so mad!! She wanted to go and get started right then and not miss out on meeting her teacher! I already love the teacher! She is so organized and cute and informative and been teaching for 7 years in addition to being a mom (that's a hard job). She also has a daughter named Madison. They will be learning about Utah history this year.
I snapped a picture of Jack going into school the first day. Yep, it looks like all the kids are excited. Yeah, we had to miss a couple weeks of our traditional summer vacation but get to have extra vacations throughout the new year to make up for it. I'm already planning our upcoming get a ways!
And they are off!

My kids asked me if I was ever going to drop off or pick up from school, I really felt like it was the old days with a bus. We have a carpool and I will only have to drop off the kids 3 days to school. This morning was my first morning and it was so simple. No crowds, no huge lines to turn into, no problem. There are 11 buses at the school - yikes! But really I do not feel the classes are crowded. I believe all my kids have 22 in there classes, Lexi's maybe a little less. They have everything really organized and my kids are loving being back to school! And we are getting back on a schedule which has been nice too.

Lexi starts next week, she met her teacher Ms. Smith yesterday for her kindergarten testing. She scored above average and the teacher said did very well, but apparently she doesn't know rhyming. Guess we'll have to work on that one.

Great photos and great smiles! Six weeks off and they all look fresh and bright and happy to be at it again! What months do they get off coming up?

I'm glad they got great teachers and small classes- score!
And I'm happy you came off of a traditional schedule so you could get a longer summer this year. I am crossing my fingers you get D track next time- I can't imagine cramming all of summer into 3 weeks. I'm sure it was crazy enough trying to cram everything into 6.
