Easter

Easter snuck in right after Lilly's birthday. We enjoyed "Spring Break" which fell at the end of our "track break" from school, which gave us an extra long track break/spring break. It was so fun!

This picture was taken at Trafalga in Lehi over Spring Break and seemed fitting to add it here again/also. I was so surprised these two cousins weren't afraid of this guy. Although he is not as creepy as some E Bunny's are.

Baseball/softball season is in full swing. Between birthdays and practice and games, we somehow had a free night to color eggs.  I always do a dozen eggs per kid and that includes Mike! So 5 dozen total. And we always seem to want to do more!

We had lots of colors to choose from.

It's messy and we always loose the white crayon midst the newspapers but it is one of my favorite and a fun tradition for Easter.

This girl ate 3 hard boiled eggs right after they were colored. Yes we have no problem eating all the eggs we cook and color.

Speaking of eating, we always have several that enjoy the vinegar food coloring. This guy LOVES anything with a vinegar base in it. Forget the spoon, he soon was drinking the colors. Even got it on video!

Maddy's not going to get tricked into trying the vinegar.

But even Lilly tried it!

Saturday morning we headed to Smith's, yes the grocery store a block away from our house, for our favorite Easter egg hunt. Well maybe not favorite, but a good one that is inside and not crowded and lots of fun. They even serve a mini breakfast. This year they lined 4 different age groups down the isles, spreads out the candy and some eggs, and said go. They started 5 minutes ahead of time. You snooze you loose!

Lilly was on my watch, she had it figured out and in no time her basket was full.

The other kids made out well also. As you can see we have no shortage of candy!

After the hunt, Maddy and Mike headed to practice, the kids enjoyed candy, I enjoyed Saturday morning conference. It was a great morning.

While I listened to conference Lilly painted and was so proud of her work! Thanks Jen for the fun present!

After the afternoon session of conference, we headed down to Lehi to celebrate Brent's birthday.  We enjoyed dinner and cake and we stayed and played while Mike and Brent went to Priesthood session.

Recently Brent started giving us presents for his birthday. The kids and I myself included got bubbles and chalk. Heck ya I love his birthday also!!

Easter Sunday morning the kids woke up to find their baskets aka bags. Maddy's was in the dryer, Jack found his last and thought he was forgotten but it was downstairs in the shower, Lexi in the play room and Lilly in the bathroom cupboard.

The kids wore their Christmas pj's 1. because the girls matched and 2. they had a bunny on them! Two for one special. Jack is a good sport and doesn't mind non matching jammies. He still asks for a brother regularly however.

More candy, a toy and peeps! I had to make a late night visit to the store because Lexi was out of bed and saw the E Bunny's toy stash.

We forced some Children to watch conference (so they say) but really enjoyed Easter Sunday ar home watching conference. It was the perfect Easter Sunday.

For dinner, Julie spoiled us and cooked again for Easter dinner. After delicious ham and potato salad and asparagus and fruit and rolls, we went to Great Grandmas and had an egg hunt with our local cousins. Yep more candy. And more cousin fun!

Monday we came down to Lehi (again :) (we love it down there)for our last day of spring break. We went swimming at the Legacy Center. It was cold outside and several people had the same idea but it wasn't too crowded. We then went to Stephs and played til it was time to get kids home for practice and school the next morning! Hard to believe track break was over. :( It was the best! We find out our next years track assignment soon. Can't wait to see what breaks we have for next year.

And one last photo of the kids in their spring attire. I forgot to take a pic at home before church so we snapped one on the way into church
I took back the dresses I bought and decided to go with these hand me downs. They were much cuter! Jack complained about the collared shirt (it's always something with this kid-I didn't make him wear a tie and he still complained). I didn't even ask him to tuck it in because I didn't want that whine fest. Pick your battles, right and that was one I didn't care about.

I do Love these four! With all my heart! I'm blessed to be their Mother. And also blessed to celebrate Easter. Before conference we did our Egg lesson. We have 12 eggs and a scripture message in each egg that reminds us of Jesus and the resurrection and atonement. My Savior knows me and Loves me. I'm grateful for Easter to remind us of that.

Love Easter jammies! I didn't even do Easter church clothes this year since it was conference. I am actually not even sure we celebrated Easter. You have motivated me to put being a fun mom back on my to-do list.
