Random Ramblings

Random Ramblings

Jack left his coat at school for the third time in a week, I wanted to take the kids to jump n bounce before our monthly pass ran out. So Jack and I jumped in the car and the next thing I know...
I don't really remember much, I put Lilly in her car seat and walked around the car and then went into reverse. Camille was driving up the street and said my door was open, my tail lights went on and then the door was coming down. I must have pushed the door shut and then went into reverse. I'm lucky I didn't do more damage than I did. Still its very embarrassing:)
Thanks Chad for coming to my rescue. We still need to replace the door or at least the bottom 2 panels. The door makes a huge popping noise when it closes. Thank goodness no damage was done to the car and that the charge for service was given in cookies. Sometimes it does pay to have door connections.
This is Jack's candy house he made. The house is made from a milk carton and then lots of icing and obviously lots of candy to decorate it. I kept telling him to eat the candy and he told me he wanted to save it for next year. Um, I don't think so!
Maddy is doing so well at piano lessons. IT is so fun listening to her play Christmas carols and sing along with them. She is playing with both hands and loves it. Practicing hasn't even been a chore for her, she does it without begging not to.
Lexi is doing well at school and is (finally) writing her name. She learned to write her full name, Alexis. When ever we try to just write "Lexi" on a paper, she insists it is not her name because her name starts with an A.
Here's the kids all ready to go party on New Year's Eve!
Lexi LOVES her hat and wears it everywhere
Lilly tolerates hers
Jack wears his to the bus stop
Maddy LOVES wearing her hat also just about anywhere she goes

For New Year's Eve,  we went with Bridget and crew to the Herriman Rec Center and enjoyed New York New Year's Eve celebration. It was $35 and including, swimming, a hypnotist, carnival games, prizes, scales and tales show and then the kids all came home with balloons and noise makers. It was the best $35 spent and the best part was the party ended at 10pm with watching the ball drop at times square~technically it was 10 pm in SLC but midnight in NYC! We came home and ate some leftover birthday pizza and drank our sparkling cider. Maddy made it to midnight but the others were tired. The crowds were not bad either, it was so much fun, I hope they do it again next year because we will for sure be in! We didn't take our camera but should have.

And I'm officially up to date...well still need to do New Year's Resolutions. Today starts day 1 of my 6 week fitness challenge~wish me luck.

Ack! Sorry about the garage door. I have backed out and taken off side mirrors more than once and it is a bit embarrassing but it happens and at least no one got hurt.

I got worried you did the door in a second time but then realized you hadn't blogged about it, just posted on FB. Glad it's all better now.

New Years Eve sounded like a lot of fun! I really like the idea of joining NYC for the midnight option at 10 pm.

Good luck with the fitness challenge. I survived first day ... now we'll see how today goes. My legs are sore and I'm later than I was yesterday, which was too late, going to the gym. It will be a mess.

I lost 40 pounds last year -- doing the fitness challenge. I swear by it.. and when I follow it.. it's a healthy way to permanantly live your life! I don't join in the money pot.. but I am going to do it as well. -- Haven't started yet!

I quit when my Grandma died and haven't exercised once since the end of July. Shameful.

I need it!!

Happy to see the Happy's in your life!
