Where did all that dark hair go?
Lilly's 1st birthday.
And her 2nd birthday
Lilly with her Monkey cake
She LOVES MONKEY'S. She has several books that have monkeys in it, some jammies, she loves watching Curious George on TV or the iPad, she loves bananas and she is a little monkey! So it seemed fitting to have a monkey birthday. It was chocolate cake and delish if I do say so myself (I saved my cheat all week long to have some--bite me in the but come weigh in day but oh well it was worth it). Getting a picture with Lilly smiling is quite the process.

She had to taste test it.
But we finally got a cheeser smile!
For dinner we had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Lilly LOVES meatballs and spaghetti.
I didn't ever get her washed off after she was finished eating. Notice a nice clown/monkey/spaghetti face! haha, we also had salad and yummy crispy yams, steamed asparagus and bread. After dinner we opened gifts. She was very particular that every piece of paper and ribbon had to be off the gifts. She had a pile of papers! Karsyn kept saying "I think she needs some help" because it was rather slow also. BUT she enjoyed every minute of it.
The suspense was killing the other kids ( like it usually does), they all inched closer and closer to see what Lilly was opening. Ashlyn who will be 2 in 5 weeks, wanted in on the action so bad!
Lilly finally let her help with the last present.
And yes this is Lilly with all her wrappings! It was like Christmas. She was so excited when she opened every present, especially her Cabbage Patch baby Hailey Lola. Mmm, she smells so sweet! Reminds me of my Cabbage Patch that Brody and Chad ripped her head off on Christmas day. LOL. No hard feelings brothers. After presents, we sang Happy Birthday. I'm not sure if Lilly thought our singing would be terrible so she covered her ears or really loud. Either way, she took her hands down on our 2nd time through to sing along. She was so cute she sang "happy day to you."
And it was time to blow out the candles. I'm not sure if she blew them out of if someone helped her but they came out and she was excited!
Especially excited for cake and ice-cream and a banana! We had banana splits with cake for dessert.
Two of the many reasons I love you.
1. I love how excited you get when someone you love comes through the door you scream there name and run and give them a giant hug (and then you usually try and escape and run outside)You are especially excited when Daddy comes home from work!
2. Lilly has quite the collection of things that she sleeps with and that have to come out of bed with her when she wakes up. Her blanket, her black kitty, a sippy cup, and now a baby along with several books that she wants to read while sleeping. We started using a night lite when she goes to bed at night and it has helped her not cry when going to bed-she must have been a little afraid of the dark. Glad that problem was solved!
And Happy Happy Birthday to Tifani today! Love you much.

Was she purposely making a monkey face when you asked her to smile with her cake? Too cute! That cake is absolutely darling as well and huge bummer that you have had two birthdays during this dang challenge. Since our team gets two cheats this week though, I guess you can eat that one leftover piece of cake.
That cake was so worth waiting for! Even Brent (who is a chocolate cake snob) kept talking about how good it was. I must get your recipe! Loved being able to celebrate with you. It was a very fun party and Lilly was adorable start to finish!!!!
Love her little "fishy" face. She's a keeper!
Cute cake- you are so cute and creative.
Happy Birthday Lilly!
