Stitches

I sent Maddy to go play with a friend and instead she came in with a bloody trail. She fell in the garage and hit our sink from our kitchen remodel and got a big deep cut. I wasn't sure if it needed stitches so I called my nurse friends. Both Juliana and Carly said because of where it was on her wrist they would go get stitches. Maddy was so nervous, she didn't remember her stitches experience from when she was 4 years old on her chin but I did.  It was as traumatic for her as it was me!!

Julianna calmed her down, Dad came home from work early and we rescheduled the evenings events! At the Instacare they put numbing on her wound but it didn't do the trick so the dr gave her a shot. That was the worst part!! She cried but after the shot she got a warm blanket and calmed down while the dr gave her 4 stitches. She said it was quite deep in the middle and was glad we came in. The stitches will stay in for 10 days. It is healing well and she's doing much better. Maddy has had stitches twice, for being my safe child she sure has gotten stitched up alot!

Time to clean the garage and send stuff to the DI! Sorry Maddy, way to be brave.

Some things are just good to get past ... like this one. You are brave, Maddy. It still looks like it had to really hurt!

Poor Maddy! We've yet to experience stitches at our house (and the only broken bone has been Elsie's)...knock on wood...
