Independence Day is my favorite holiday. What is better than food, fun, sun, friends, family and fireworks to top off the night! This year we were able to celebrate all weekend long. Mike started his new job with Intellibed on July 1, Wednesday (yep 3rd job of the year) and we were so happy he had Friday off to celebrate an extra long weekend with the 4th being on a Saturday. We went with the Loveridge cousins to Seven Peaks Provo. It was crowded but we didn't let the crowds stop us from enjoying the triple digits and long weekend.
After Provo Peaks, we went to Sizzler for dinner. We were quite the mouthful and handful and seen I'm sure but we had a good meal. And then to top off dinner we headed to Krispie Kreme on the way home to get donuts.
KK gives donuts for A's. So we brought our report cards and every child got 6 donuts. YUM! Plus a fresh one off the line.

We went out front to watch some neighbors fireworks. Love the outfit Lilly!
Saturday, we went to Daybreak Lake for a run around the lake and to feed the ducks. I also had to have a cute photo of my patriotic kids!
BUT apparently the it was too bright even in the shade. Since all eyes are closed!
Here a Throwback to 2011. I love hand me downs. Lexi and Maddy are wearing the dresses Lexi and Lilly wore 3 years ago. Karysn is also wearing the dress Ashlyn wore but isn't in the picture.

Julie and Brent and Grandma joined us for dinner. Well really brought dinner and we joined them. It was yummy. Love BBQ's. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon, salad and pies for dessert. What's more American than that!
After dinner the neighbors on the street started to trickle out and do fireworks shows before the big Thanksgiving Point show at 10pm. We ourselves had an enjoyable time watching and people watching and playing. The kids played, we enjoyed glow sticks, the bugs enjoyed us (we came home with lots of mosquito bites) and then enjoyed yummy pies for dessert. Thanks Julie for a yummy feast!
Jack was Bill's helper and found the next best firework to light. They had LOTS of fireworks on the street to enjoy.

We came home and found our driveway and yard covered in fireworks leftovers from our neighbors big bash. Maybe next year we will stay for his but then again spending the time with family is even better and either way we still have to clean up Glade's mess!

I'm going to steal some of these photos - just a heads up. It was so fun having you with us and I was so so grateful we got to be back for the 4th. Mike got some excellent shots of the kids with the fireworks going off in the background. I blew it in that category. Fun post of a fun weekend!!!!!
