Our school is participating in the Leader in Me program developed off of the book "7 habits for highly effective people." Madison was so excited to hand me a note that said she had been chosen for the 1st habit which is to be proactive.
She was honored along with 4 other kids in her class. Her teacher wrote
this about Maddy "Madison has focused on being responsible and getting
right to work when she comes to school in the morning. She has practiced
her piano without her mom asking her to do so. She is a responsible
student who does what is right."
Maddy LOVES school. In 3rd grade they are learning cursive handwriting,
never before have I seen someone so excited to learn something new.
Every day she comes home from school and tells me the new letter that
they learned. She entered the Reflections contest in 3 areas and wrote
the artist statement in cursive. Have I mentioned her handwriting is
perfect? They are also working on multiplication and division.
Seriously, in 3rd grade? She has had a lot of fun in 3rd grade. She
loves her teacher Miss Giffen. She offers lots of praise for Maddy,
Maddy sits right next to her desk. Miss Giffen told me Maddy will sit
there all year because she loves a student that works independently and is a hard worker.
The last hour of school all the Leader in Me award winners were able to go to an ice cream party and have cookies and ice cream. She loved every minute of the day. Way to go Madison!
We had our 9 year old check up today. 54.3 in 75% for height, 73 lbs 72% for weight and a BMI for 67%. All is well, except we are scheduled for a trip to see an endocronologist. Wish us luck!

That is so awesome! We are so pleased with all you do, Madison. It's fun to get some recognition when you are working so hard. But we know that is not why you do what you do. And that makes us even happier. We know you would do it even if there was never a word said, just simply because that is who you are! What a great example you are setting for others around you!
