#roadtrip part 2

In the past, we have only done Disney 1 or 2 days. We decided to try the 3 day park hopper this year. While 3 days was a lot of walking (Mike calculated he walked about 7 miles a day), it was also nice to not have to cram everything in. We did do a lot of walking between parks mostly to ride Radiator Springs and California Screamin' (the kids all time favs). We were sad to know Splash Mountain was closed (Maddy's fav) and the Matterhorn but still had lots of fun despite those rides being closed. We did stick to one park for most of the day and rode just about everything. The 3 day pass was just the right amount of time.

Lexi needed to be 48" tall to ride Screamin'. We measured her at home before we left and she needed just a little bit to get her there. I'll admit in the bottom of her shoe she had a sock liner, some napkins but it did the trick! I'm not sure when we will be back to Disney again and she has NO FEARS (except of the Ferris Wheel at Scheels the week before) so I wanted her to ride anything she wanted to. We lucked out!

Tuesday, St Patty's Day, was our first of three days. New for a limited time is Frozen Fun. I really would be surprised if they didn't extend this to all the time, a lot of work went into making this and it was well attended and of course Anna and Elsa are everywhere right now why wouldn't they continue to be at Disney.

We first went to get a beeper (kindof like you get at restaurants) to see Olaf. This eliminated a long line to see him. You could go pretty far with the beeper.

Once we had the beeper we went into Arendale. Can you believe it SNOW was inside! The lighting was dark and purple hence the purple looking snow (That and I was the photographer--Mike was getting fast passes). It was real snow! I wondered why lots of the workers in the Frozen Fun Village carried gloves and wore boots now I know why!

They even had a sledding hill! If I had told them Lilly was 3, she could have gone on my lap. But I was being honest, she was still 2 and saved us lots of money!!

The Village looked just like the movie, the guy with the shovels job was to fluff the snow! They did close the snow access to fluff some more. Behind the fountain is Olaf. After playing in the snow and sledding, we went to the sing a long theater.

Don't' mind our 2 year old problems. The inside of the village was just like the movie Frozen! They went into a lot of details for this experience. It was one of our favorite things while at Disney.

Our beeper beeped during the sing a long so we left to go meet Olaf. We waited maybe 10 minutes to greet him. Just as we were approaching him, he had to go get new snow on because he was melting. But he came out seconds later. I can only imagine wearing the headed costumes!

He was first to sign Lexi's book. He drew himself!

And was full of warm hugs for all!

Only Olaf is in the Frozen village, Anna and Elsa have their own castle. Just outside of their castle was Sophia, we stopped for a quick picture. You could also see Doc McStuffins here but we didn't wait to see her just Sophia.

The quick passes (exactly like Fast Passes but they don't count against you) to see Anna and Elsa were amazing, lots faster than Olaf, which was better than also waiting in a long line but we still did that 2 times. We got the fast passes to see Anna and Elsa and then practically walked right into see them when it was our turn. Inside was just like the castle also. The clock! The hallways! The pictures! Our Anna and Elsa lovers were impressed! 

Pun taken and no offense but Elsa's character was more "cold" than Anna. Anna was just like she is in the movie, loving and friendly and genuine and talkative, Elsa just kind of stood back and listened. Anna was so cute, she had dimples and personality and welcomed the kids like they were her friends.

After we were done with group pictures and were leaving, Lilly wanted one more hug and ran back to give Anna a hug.

Loved seeing Frozen Fun. It took about 1.5 hours to see Olaf, Anna, Elsa and Arendale but was so worth it! We then headed to Cars Land! It is amazing here. Love all the details and the area. We are also Cars fans at our house!

We then headed to the pier and the kids rode Screamin', we opted no for the Ferris Wheel I all to remember it 2 years ago when it rolled and swayed plus we went the week before to Scheels. Almost the same, right?

Lilly of course is too small for Screamin' but the Carousel and Ariel and the Rockets are close by. We rode and rode and rode.

I convinced the kids to go on Tower of Terror. We snapped a picture to text to Emma. Last time we were at Disney she was with us and I still remember standing in line for this ride with her!

This definitely makes your stomach weak! But they were all good sports and rode it every day we were there twice except one day when Lexi and Jack watched the parade outside the hotel with me!

That night we rode Dumbo and it's a small world and Thunder Mountain RR. We were headed to World of Color when we noticed the streets outside the Disney Temple were being filled. We decided to watch the fireworks here since we were already there.

They made an announcement and said due to wind there was a chance they wouldn't be doing the show...but to our delight the wind stopped to enjoy the show!

Wednesday morning we arrived fairly early and decided to hit Toone Town first. It was empty!  It was a magic morning for the Disney properties at CA so maybe that's why Disney side was vacant. We weren't complaining!

No lines for the Castle. 

No lines for the trolley. 

No lines for the car. 

We walked right up to Goofy!

And into Minnie's house. Lilly loved baking a cake in the oven, Jack even did the dishes a time or two. her house is super cute, she was outside having tea. And once again, only waited for 1-2 people ahead of us.

Mickey was out on the front porch. When we were getting pics with Goofy, Mickey and Minnie embraced outside their places but then Mickey went back home. Mike was still getting Fast Passes, the lines were longer this morning and he was getting World of Color passes.

Someone was mesmerized my Mickey! It's a good thing we are having a Mickey Mouse party this weekend in honor of her birthday!.

We had lots of pictures of kids driving Mickey's car. Lilly was mad because she wanted to drive when it was someone elses turn. 2 year old problems!

Mike came back after we rode the ride in Toone Town, it was Lilly's first roller coaster and her face was priceless--she def didn't want to do this one again! We went back and got a fam picture with Mickey! He recognized us too.

Mike ran across the street and wanted his picture also with Goofy.

The longest line in Toone Town as for Pluto! He was friendly and fun also.

We went on its a small world again and had a snack while we sailed along. Still a fav ride all even as an adult!

We then headed to Autotopia. Jack was made because he was too short to drive the car, really to push the peddle. He still steered.

Maddy was a crazy driver! Good thing she still has 5.5 years to get better.

This is Lilly and my selfie with the big camera. Harder to do then a phone. BTW, so many peeps with selfie sticks. I thought of that..if only I had marketed it as my own!

I thought the Jedi Training would be fun for Jack. It's my fault the kids don't know anything about Star Wars because I myself don't know anything about Star Wars. When we were riding the ride, I had to ask what's his name again to the worker. c3Po if that's how you spell it. We had front row seats for the Jedi Training, but no signs like some suggested. However, they were pulling out dozens of kids. When Jack didn't get chosen right off the bat, he went to the side and wanted to leave. The girls didn't want to go up (honestly because they had no idea what a jedi was) so we ended up leaving and not even watching the training. Oh well, we found Buzz's ride and that was a hit for all.

Here's the kids with the 3D glasses on at Star Wars. Maddy rode it 3 times and said each time it was a different ride. That's a fun new twist!

We left Disney and headed back to the hotel for dinner. It was Mexican Pizza and my fav dinner of the trip--the others weren't that much to speak about. Jack didn't eat a bite, I thought it was one to many times on Cali Screamin' but come to find out it was the beginning of our stomach flu bug. He wanted to stay at the hotel, but we didn't feel comfortable and practically made him come back with us. We wanted to see World of Color and knew we'd be sitting or standing and watching it so he came with us. He even managed a smile.

After dinner we eventually made it to sit and wait for World Of Color to start. I had treats and glow sticks for the kids to be entertained with. Lexi and Lilly enjoyed their $12 bubble gun souvenirs (can I say rip off--that's Disney prices for ya). Not so sure the people around us enjoyed the bubbles as much as the girls did!

Last time we saw World of Color from a distance, this year we were up close. It was spectacular. I especially loved the fire and ice song and fire. The fire was so hot! and bright.

It is definitely something to see and do at CA. We only wish the park stayed open after the show because it made for a long line of foot traffic out of the park and to the shuttles.

Didn't know til we woke up that Jack Thursday morning was sick in the middle of the night, the couch took the brunt of it. Mike cleaned it up as best as he could and off we went to Disney for day 3. He felt a lot better. Sorry housekeeper who had to clean up blood and then puke from Jack! 

We also had to check out so we were all packed and ready to go to Disney all day and then come back late after Fantasmic to drive to Aunt Jill's house. It was also a magic morning day, with a magic morning we are able to go into the park an hour early. BUT with an 8 o'clock opening and catching a shuttle a half hour before the park opens we never made our magic morning (we even tried 2x but with staying late waking up early isn't really an option). The park was the least crowded early in the morning even when we arrived by 8 or 9. But we stayed til 10 each night, which made for 12+ hour walking days. The kids were troopers and plugged on, sometimes Lilly would even let Lexi sit in the stroller. 

Mike ran for Fast Passes for Radiator Springs while we decided to see the Princesses--this was on Lexi and Lilly's wish list. They have their own spots and aren't seen walking around the park. The line was about 30 minutes and we meet 3 princesses.

These pics still make me laugh. Lilly was playing the part of the grumpy dwarf (but come to find out she just didn't feel good).

Snow White worked her magic and was able to get Lilly to smile and be the Happy Dwarf for a minute. Snow White was so in character. I love how she put her hands on her hips. She was so gorgeous in person not just as Snow White. Loved her probably the most of the 3 we meet.

After the pictures, Lilly did go over and give Snow White a big hug.

Next was Cinderella. She was so happy to see the girls and of course our very own Prince Charming aka Jack! He is such a good sport to go see the princesses anytime his sisters of him want to.

Cinderella even got a big squeeze from him and thanked Jack for coming to see her!

Next up was Belle. She also had the cutest dimples and was gorgeous! She was sweet and caring and loving in the minute we were with her. The princesses do make you feel loved and welcomed.

Lilly also wanted a big hug from Belle.

We hit the tea cups, dumbo, and several rides I don't think I have ever been on or at least rides I didn't remember riding:Alice in Wonderland, Toads,

While waiting for the tea cups to end (me and tea cups don't agree with one another) I saw the cutest little bird house in the trees. Love the little birds around the park. Love all the rides and cast members who work at each ride esp the uniforms and how they match the ride. Love the sites and sounds and feel of Disney. It truly is a magical place!

This was the last picture I took with the camera, the rest of the day kindof went down hill. The camera stayed in the backpack the rest of the trip but we did take a couple pictures with our phones.

 This was our last time riding Radiator Springs. Yep we are sad, it was one of my favorite rides! The kids were lucky and rode it 2x a day for a total of 6 times during our Disney time. Lilly isn't tall enough so we get a baby swap rider pass plus the fast pass, without a fast pass it was a 90 minute wait. Yuck! So Mike would take the big 3 kids while Lilly and I waited, then we'd switch so the kids could go with Mike and then myself. We did this on almost all the rides Lilly wasn't tall enough to ride (which was a lot).

 But while the big kids are riding, mom and dad take Lilly on small kid rides. This is one of the many times we rode Ariel while waiting for the big kids to ride California Screamin'. Little did I know she didn't feel well now, but she doesn't show it!

 After Radiator Springs, California Screamin' and the Goofy Ride we said goodbye to California Adventure and spent the rest of the day at the Disney side. Indiana Jones was closed the previous day so we wanted to make sure we got on that, we got a fast pass and both were able to enjoy it while Lilly took a nap after lunch. After she woke up, we rode the Jungle Cruise. This was Lilly in line.

During the ride she sat on my lap and then walked off the boat and out came her lunch. I am so thankful it didn't happen while on the boat and on my lap! Not sure how the rest of the boats got off the ride without stepping in it but I guess that wasn't my problem.


While the big kids were riding we saw Tiana. She didn't feel good but still smiled for  a picture.

 Lexi also saw the Mad Hater and Alice in Wonderland. She has lots of cute signatures in her memory book. We've never done this before but it was pretty fun and it's fun to look back on. Great Dollar Store find I found!! The books that Disney sales are a pretty penny--well worth my Dollar!

 While Lilly and I were resting and she was taking a nap the kids waited in line for Space Mountain, our fast passes brought us back at 9:35 during Fantastmic and we knew we wouldn't want to ride after watching so they waited in line. They had the best time! And so did Lilly for 2.5 days! 
While Lilly and I were off in the corner trying not to throw up on everyone and thing, each time she would vomit a different person would come and bring me some paper towels or napkins or wipes. It honestly made me cry, I was so thankful that so many people were understanding and caring and trying to help me rather than trying to get a way to not catch the bug. It made me tear up. And so many told me how sorry they were for being sick at Disney. It was a rotten thing to have had happen but the kindness around me helped make it better.

Here is Maddy and Jack stuck on Autopia. They were a couple cars behind Lilly and I and so everyone had to wait while they removed her car that she threw up in. Sorry Disney workers. While we were out waiting for them to come off we saw the clean up crew up clean come with gloves and a magic bucket. That was the last ride Lilly and I rode. I was hoping she would be like Jack and just throw up once but she threw up at least 8 times. Finally when we got some sprite at dinner, it stopped--or so I thought it did! 

We stayed and enjoyed Fantasmic. It was different then I remember also. I love characters in this play instead of just movies and water. 

 After Fantasmic, we walked back to the shuttle after enjoyed 3 wonderful days at Disneyland. These girls had a long day and were out! 

We loaded the car and drove back to Jill's house for the rest of our stay.
