Random

LOTS of random photos. Guess this is a random post!
We were invited to go Camille's mom's house before we started school. We brought a lunch, and enjoyed snow cones and cotton candy--it seemed it was unlimited also. There were 60+ people there. She had water slides, water ballon launcher, toys and lots to do! Thanks JaNae!

When the kids went back to school, Lilly and I were out shopping and I thought what the heck lets spoil you today and get you a treat. Love my one on one time with her.

Peaches! They came early this year and unfortunately some got rot bot, I think that's what Emily called it. Comes from a wet spring, which we did indeed have. BUT I still managed to get lots of peaches canned. I also bought pears. I have done a couple batches of stewed tomatoes and salsa and may do applesauce if I can find some apples. Love harvesting my goods!

PROJECTS! 101. Mike got a 3rd new job for the year, this one at IntelliBed. As a sign on bonus we were able to get a new bed. Mike decided he wanted a king bed. I have to admit it is pretty spacious. It took a while to get use to the new bed. We had a foam mattress before and the new bed is very firm. BUT the advantages of the gel bed are great. I've really come to love my bed and new pillows.

BUT I lost my head board with a king bed, so Mike built me a new one. Well kindof. A neighbor had lots of doors and window frames from her aunts home before it was demolished. We bought a 5 panel closet door and had visions of it becoming a head board. I also repainted the bedroom, got new lamps (from my grama's) and a new bed spread. It is so lovely! Love my new sanctuary!

Mike sanded several like at least 3 layers of paint of the door. Added trim and a shelf uptop. He then hung it to the wall and made a french cleat and even himself hung on it to show me how sturdy it was.

Great Grandma and Grandpa Loveridge were honored in Lehi City over Labor Day weekend. Several others were honored also. Grandma and Grandpa are both life long residents of Lehi city. They have a brick in the plaza with their names on it.

and even got to be in a parade! And then everyone was showcased and we listened to everyones life sketch and then got to enjoy a party in the park with horse rides, horse wagon rides, yard sales. Lehi city sure knows how to throw a party. We then went to dinner with cousins and family at Culvers!
When I was cleaning out Grandma's kitchen, I spoted her roasting pan. I decided I'd try it out and see if I could make Grandma's black gravy. It's not burnt just black gravy. And to my delight it came out just right. I wanted to call Grama several times to make sure I was doing it right, but I know she was there in spirit helping me along the way.

My basement bedroom only had a bed in it (our old one from when we were married 16 years ago) but no dresser or tables. So I took one from Grandma's house and painted it with duck egg blue Annie Sloan chalk paint. It is really light color but blue just can't tell in the photo. Then I distressed it to show the true character of the dresser.

I also transformed Grama's desk. I haven't painted her chair yet. Still trying to decide what color, although it matches the top of the desk right now. Loved the desk blue before but needed a neutral color in the family room.
