XII

Back 12 years when we were choosing a wedding date, I looked forward on the calendar and "total eclipse of the sun" was listed on August 11th. Yep, that made my decision on which date to get married. Luckily the Salt Lake Temple had an opening and Mike agreed.

We had no idea this would also come on this date. Tornado!

Here is another taken outside the temple. Just before the other picture. Every time a green storm comes, I get worried. This one hit too close to home. But you know what they say the worse the weather the better the marriage. We also joke that my mom wanted to be part of the wedding.

Just prior to the storm we were on the news and in the newspaper for being the last couple in the sweet heart tree. Here's the story in the newspaper Here's the story that was in the newspaper.

Just as it was starting to rain and the wind was blowing, Jerry wanted one more picture. At the time, I wasn't so happy about one more picture. BUT today I am, here's the storm in the background.

By night, the storm passed, the sun came out, the streets were closed, the city was in shock and in cleanup mode. BUT we had a beautiful reception at Red Butte Gardens.

Me and my bride's maids.

Amber, Tonya, Penny, Mike, Kinzee, Heather and Tabatha in front

Our engagement picture. Still not sure why I choose to wear this. Oh well.

Thanks again Dad for a wonderful wedding and especially the pictures. You teased I'd never look at them. I do look at them, at least once a year reflecting on my wedding day. Yep, Mike looks young and I am chubby. Otherwise, we look about the same. Thanks honey, 4,385 days marked off towards eternity.

I have never even heard of that tree. What a fun story to tell the posterity. I hope the bad weather, good marriage thing isn't true though because it was blue skies, sunny and 80 degrees on my wedding day, in December no less. Perfect weather so I hope I am not doomed. Great pictures though and HAPPY 12th!
