Bribery 101

Notice anything different?

You know when you make a bribe and hope the child will forget that you bribed them to do something. Lexi has an amazing memory and didn't forget that mom told her she could get earrings when she stayed dry all night. Last September when we started potty training, I hoped this day would come and it finally has.

Some children revert when a new baby comes not Lexi, I guess having a baby encouraged her to stay dry at night. Yay, for no more pull ups.

Lexi absolutely loves her new look. She checks herself out in the mirror regularly. She tells strangers about her new earrings and everyone she sees. She told Mike when she went to bed if her earrings fell out she would die. This morning she told him that they didn't fall out.

She was such a champ. When we went to Claire's on Saturday, she popped right up in the chair. Picked out the flowers. Patiently waited for the girls to be ready. And then they did it and I think she was more surprised than anything. No tears, just a big hug from mom and then excitement! She loves having earrings!

Maddy has officially declared, she'll get her's pierced when Lilly does (the clerk said baby's could at 2 months but I'm too chicken to pierce my baby's ears). Maybe it's time to make another bribe. Not sure Maddy would honestly be as brave as Lexi was.
