My good friend Staci and I have sworn for years we needed to get together. We have been friends since 2nd grade when I moved to Farmington. She has 2 cute kiddos and we think our oldest should someday get hitched. We didn't let them in on this detail but it was fun to FINALLY see each other. It's been way to long but we are grateful for FB and email and texts and Christmas cards that keep us in touch with each other. Should of had the kids take a picture of us but we didn't. On a side note this was also my first outing with 4 kids. Had to take them somewhere we couldn't loose one of us! Part of the pass of all passes is the Tracy Aviary, Staci bought a groupon and we met up for an afternoon of bird watching and lunch. Thanks Stace for taking pictures...I forgot my camera.
Here's the group.
Tyler, Brooke, Lexi, Jack, Maddy
Interesting facts about our day:
- we saw a 1 eyed owl or hoo hoo's as Lexi called them
- Syndey the emu is the Aviary's largest bird. He's been there for 17 years. So fun to watch him run in.
- Loved the bird shows
- Did you know that a chicken egg can withstand at least 43 pounds
- peacocks can fly? we saw one on the roof and one in a tree and several walking around
- Loved the flamingos, the golden eagle, and so many more. Can't remember their names.
- the baby macaws were huge and only 6 months old
- beautiful day ~ HDOTY at 98', June 4 that's hot!
- great company

Was the aviary crazy? I'm wondering how busy it gets with all of the POAP holders. We need to take advantage one of these mondays!
We knew peacocks could fly- there are some at my mom's house. When they get noisy, it also sounds like they're saying, "Camille, Camille!" I swear, it's true!
Glad you could catch up with an old friend- and one you've had since the 2nd grade- that's along time! :)
Such a fun day! I seriously had no idea we would be there as long as we were! All the kids were great even though it was a hot one! Thanks for inviting us! Let's do it again soon! :)
