Beach

While in San Diego (technically Carlsbad), we stayed at the Carlsbad Inn. We had a condo which included a room with a king bed and a bathroom, a kitchen, dining area and a living room area with a sleeper sofa.

The Inn rented sand equipment, pool noodles and rings, bikes, and strollers. It was so fun to rent equipment and use it rather than packing it with us. We didn't get a chance to take a bike ride, my brothers did and said it was a lot of fun!

We ventured to the beach the first day in Carlsbad although I didn't have a camera. We went back and took pictures of everyone playing in the water and sand. I love the sound of the ocean, it is refreshing and relaxing and beautiful and so large! Any vacation with a beach in it is peaceful and wonderful. And to my delight, no one got to far out in the water.

Brody took Jack body surfing one day, I prayed very hard that he'd be safe. Luckily it was cold and he didn't venture to far. Thanks for keeping him safe Brody.

It was Lilly's first beach experience. She plopped right down and wiggled her toes in the sand.
Maddy's swim suit was too small. Showed her belly which made her uncomfortable and then it showed her bum later when she got out of the pool. I left it in California. Luckily i found a good deal and bought the kids a new suit while we were shopping.
Lexi loved the beach. She loved the water and could have stayed here all day. Lexi was so excited to wear her new swim suit. Although, it really was a hand me down. I love her excitement with new things!
Mike took lots of pics with his phone, this is his feet:)

And more playing in the sand with buckets and shovels and sea weed!

I really wanted a picture of the kids holding hands with the ocean in the background. As usual one child didn't want to participate.
I even tried to hold her in place and she was off.

She sat in the sand and shoveled it and was really enjoying herself. The tide came in and she could see it coming but didn't know what to do. She screamed and screamed. She cried after the tide left because she was so made at it.

Jack also had a need for a new suit. He was constantly holding his suit on too. I wish that swim shorts would have a draw string that actually did something besides pretend to tie. He can still wear a suit that is 2T because he has such a skinny waiste. That's the Loveridge genes for ya!
I like this picture, a couple of the kids are with us in the background! We attempted to get all 4 but one is constantly on the move!
We asked a man to take a family picture. Thank goodness, he noticed Maddy's hair blowing in her face. Most of the pictures, she looked very hairy. :)

I then held her hair back. Lilly once again is oblivious to the fact that we are taking a picture!
Not a bad picture. Don't mind that I am not dressed for the occasion, I was off shopping at the outlets after a trip to the beach.

Call my kids crazy, they preferred the heated swimming pool to the ocean so we didn't spend much time here.

Carlsbad was a great area. We enjoyed many local restaurants. When we first arrived in Carlsbad we noticed a man walking diagonally in the middle of an intersection. Genious! They had an extra long

That family picture is so cute and how nice of a stranger to actually pay attention and notice that Maddy's face was blocked. I also love the ocean. It scares me to death and brings me so much peace and tranquility at the same time. Seth also loves a pool but if there is an ocean nearby I have little use for a pool, although with kids I am a bit less worried in a pool...no waves, and no dark water so I could actually find them if they sunk. You look fantastic by the way! All those New Year's challenges paid off because you are looking even more fit than ever.

Love the photos! That looked like a wonderful day for all of you. Even Lilly! I agree - the family photo is terrific. I'm going to steal it.
