Remember back at Christmas my parents gave us a trip to San Diego? Time goes so fast our trip was here. Mike had a business trip in Las Vegas the week before our Cali trip, I was going to drive down and meet him. Tim at work was awesome and told Mike to take the 2nd half of the business trip and he'd take the first. So we started our trip to Cali a little early and squeezed in a business trip with Mike.Not bad to get mileage expensed for half the trip and a hotel room the first night.
Mike attended a geneology conference. It was a very different market as you can imagine than in Utah, those attending wanted to do geneology because they didnt have future generations they either didn't have children a couple were also homosexual and wanted to research their posterity.
Anyway while Mike worked at the conference and we played at the pool in the warm sun. It was HOT but we didn't complain. Utah has had cold spring weather.
This was the best picture of the kids swimming that I got. Lilly didn't care much for the water she just wanted to walk. The cement was so hot and she didn't have shoes but she is in that love to walk phase. Rather frustrating for both of us. Luckily she feel asleep in the shade in the stroller while the kids swam. I was able to sit and sunbathe while thr kids swam The next day I put shoes on Lilly and she walked the patio happily.
Jack was so hot he wanted to sit in the shade also and play candy crush. Here's Lilly taking a nap too.
That night we went to dinner at Rainforest Cafe. I went back in College, it was a first for Mike and the kids. We sat by the waterfall and even had several "thunderstorms" while we were eating. The kids were so good thru dinner that we ordered sparkling volcano dessert.
It was an expensive meal. But so fun we enjoyed watching the animals in the jungle and then seeing our first penny smashing machine. It was a bad mistake on my part, because the kids saw those machines the rest of the trip and wanted to smash pennies. You know you put $.51 cents in a machine and the penny gets elongated and stamped with a design. Oh well, we have lots of pennies to remember our trip by.
The kids saw the slots and were so excited to play the arcades. They were highly disappointed when they learned their was an age limit to play. The smell really bothered Madison. The women signs were ESP noticeable to me, I can't fathom living so close. Mike hates Vegas guess that's why we never visit.
After dinner we hit the strip our first stop was at m and m world.
I really wanted to walk to the Bellagio and show the kids the water show but we were all very tired, we started our drive about 4am that morning and even though it was still daylight in Vegas we were ready to hit the sack. We stayed at The Las Vegas hotel all 6 of us stayed in a room with 2 queen beds so when the kids went to bed do did mom and dad. Although we were just as worn out as they were, we didn't complain about going to bed early. I wish they could have seen Vegas at night it really is a site to see. Next time! Good night Las Vegas!

Vegas at night is an electronic wonder, for sure! But looks like you found plenty to do in the sunlight, too. Definitely a stroke of pure luck to have the conference coincide with your trip.
What did your kids think of Vegas? My kids were so excited until they realized that none of those game machines were for kids and until they saw a whole lot of skin on all the billboards. Then they were so confused. Rainforest is fun though, even though the food is nothing special.
Vegas is a bit more fun without kids in tow, but at least you had a great swimming pool- that's all they really care about anyways!
Did Mike change jobs? I know he's been involved with geneology, but I thought it was a different company?
