Can't believe I have been a mother for 9 years.
Maddy makes it very easy.
She is wonderful, a sweetheart, stubborn, patient, talented and the best.
Happy Birthday !
7th
8th
9 of the many reasons I love u
1. Always willing to help with anything I ask (even changing a diaper on a wiggley baby)
2. Friendly to all. Although she can appear to be shy, maddy is very friendly and can make friends with anyone. She also gets a long with everyone.
3. Artistic. Whether its scrap booking with mom, drawing a picture for fun, making a sculpture with play do or just doodling, Maddy loves to be artistic.
4. Loves to read. She got a set of books from Robert Dahl for her birthday and is as excited about books as she is her toys. She is one smart cookie! She is reading the Puppy Place books at school and home also and loves those too.
5. Funny. She loves to tell jokes. She's pretty good at remembering lots of them.
6. Beautiful. I get lots of comments that Maddy is a mini-me (as in me-Makinzee), I don't see it. I Love her blue eyes that glow, her big grin even tho it is a very gappy grin, and her little scar on her chin (she fell on a shoe bench when she was 18 mo and her binky kept opening the scar up). She is so tan this summer also. Did you notice we chopped off 6 inches of hair? She would have gone to her chin to be able to donate to locks of love, but MOM chickened out! This girl has some thick hair also!
8. Honorable. She is honest and diligent at being so. She holds her values high and doesn't let anything stop her. She has a strong testimony.
9. Talented. Did you know she can cross her eyes? And touch her tongue to her nose. She also loves to tumble and ride her bike and is getting better at rollerskating.
Maddy wanted to go to her favorite restaurant for dinner.
Chuck - a - Rama.
It's an all you can eat restaurant. We talked her cousins and grandparents into going with us and started out Labor Day weekend celebrating Maddy.
She opened a couple gifts after dinner.
And then smiled for a couple pictures.
We even talked the waitress into supplying us with 9 candles.
The next morning was officially Maddy's birthday. Dad made pancakes with sprinkles in it (he didn't know sprinkles were a birthday pancake tradition). We had her eat 9 mini-cakes and sang to her. She wanted to go to the water park for her birthday. We went to the Provo Seven Peaks, it wasn't crowded at all and was very fun. Bill and Stephanie and girls came along too.
After 7 Peaks, we went for ice cream at the BYU Creamery and then headed home to start another party. Maddy wanted an octopus party. Can you see her octy balloon? Mike did a great job construction her!
This was our dinner spread. Lots and lots of fresh fruit, stuffed french toast, cinnamon chip french toast, quiche and juice and chocolate milk. It was so yummy. She choose having breakfast for dinner.
After dinner she talked us into letting her open presents. She got a baton! I had one of these growing up but it had water in it, baton's are hard to find.
A scrapbook kit
Her favorite squinkees--her friend Alli play Squinkees for hours!
Lots of clothes, new shoes, a rainbow loom, a sketcher, orbeez globe just to name a few. After presents we had cake and ice cream (homemade mint chocolate chip). She wanted an octopus cake and octopus cupcakes and helped me decorate it. This was all Maddy's idea. Probably should have done them for 8 but oh well, 9 is just as great.
9...can't believe it. Why does time go so fast?
Love ya Maddy Brooke.
