One of the many perks to having a Thanksgiving Point pass is going to the fun activities they have. The weather was rainy and we wanted to go to 7 peaks to enjoy our last day at the pool but decided to hit Bacon Bash instead at thanksgiving point. The kids were actually more excited to do this anyways so it was a win win.
Lexi was especially exited to go and almost couldn't go to sleep because she wanted bacon. We've been enjoying lots of BLT's for dinner ESP since the tomatoes have finally come on. All the kids LOVE them. But then again who doesn't love BACON!
We arrived and started a scavenger hunt that Mike led us on at the farm to find clues about bacon. Our prize was these lovelies. I tried to get a group pic but Lilly wanted nothing to do with a pig nose.

After the scavenger hunt we went on a hay ride.

Lilly was hesitant and held Dad's hand and enjoyed the horse ride. The farm had a brand new baby pony that was born earlier this week. Lots of people were petting it and Lilly immediately said "no." She's more of a fan from a distance of animals!

Here we are waiting in line for the hay ride.
After the hay ride we found the real pigs. Oh my do they stink! They had swarms of flies on them and they slept right through it. I was surprised at how real their butts look like humans with the exception of the feet. We played a game that told us how many things we use almost every day that are made from pigs. I was so surprised! Pencils, paint brush, paper, juice box, yogurt, buttons, bones, in addition to the bacon.

It was quite ironic that at the Bacon Bash you had to purchase BACON. The kids wanted bacon and had been good so we bought some bacon. Lilly found the dog house while we were waiting for the bacon to cook. She apparently wanted to be a dog instead of a pig today. Actually she is always a dog, she crawls on all four often around the house and licks you--it's a weird thing but all of my children have loved to be a dog and acted like it. Have yours?

We stopped for icecream. They raised the price. So sad it's $0.75 for an ice cream cone now. Yep breaking the bank! We came home, and I put the kids to work. The previous week, I bought 3 ~40 pound boxes of pears and most of the pears were ripe and needed to be canned. The kids are great helpers and helped me and Mike knock out 7 batches of pears!

The rainy weather didn't stop our dinner plans, we enjoyed a pizza bbq at the Wakley's and smores for dessert. The weekends always go so fast!

Bacon Bash! How funny! It looks like it was actually pretty fun too and now I want a BLT.
Impressed with the bottled fruit. You are our own Pioneer Woman for sure! I wondered about the bacon bash. Looks like it was a fun way to learn about the foods we love. Love the noses!
I think purple is your color- hot mama!
