First Snow

First snow...really and it is the almost the middle of January? Guess we shouldn't complain but I have a feeling we're in for it come spring time when we all want the sunshine to really be here and it will be snowing instead. The weather has been so warm, the kids asked if they didn't have to wear coats to school. I of course didn't allow it but instead they spent several afternoons outside playing. So much for taking the trampoline down so the snow didn't stretch it out.

Saturday we woke up to several inches of soft white stuff. Mike was a good sport and went outside to take some pictures so I could have something that showed winter did come this year. We love our south facing house...no shoveling! Our front yard today is brownish green but across the street it is still white.

The kids played outside for a while and then talked Dad into taking them down to the gully to go sledding. Mike said one run down and the grass appeared but the kids didn't seem to mind.

I guess this is how Lexi rode!

But best of all, another year older and she can walk up the hill herself.

The greatest snow on earth finally arrived...too bad it's mostly melted and no real storms in sight.
