Preschool Zoo Field Trip

Crap, I thought I was caught up and looked at the pictures on the camera and totally forgot about this preschool field trip to the zoo! That's OK, not too many pictures esp compared to Capitol Reef!

The Hogle Zoo seems to me like it has been under construction the 4 years we have lived back in Utah. First the bears and sea lions and now the African Safari. BUT some of it is complete and the entrance looks so much better than orange do not enter tape.

Rewind, Lexi graduation on Thursday, we left for Capitol Reef Fri-Mon, field trip was Tuesday. Yep, we live a busy life.

Tuesday morning came quick but we managed to get to the zoo. We had enough preschool moms that had passes that not too many people had to pay the steep price of admission. Can't decide if I should renew my pass again or not!?

The giraffes are up at the entrance, along with zebras and ostriches that can roam while the train drives around them. Next up, is the lions. And as usual my kids like the statue animals better than the real life thing. They have 2 lionesses and 2 lions but have to be kept separated for 1.5 years because the lionesses will be taken advantage of.

 They have a huge area to claim as home. Every 2 days they switch coming out and roaming the big area.

 While at the zoo, we hung around the neighbors-well some of them we got lost from the rest of the group.

 And then a little group shot of some of the kids while we ate lunch. We ate lunch and then went to see the gorillas and it was time to go. We skipped the carousel and the train wasn't open yet. It was also getting warm, it was supposed to be 90' today. I was worried the zoo would be cooler but nope didn't need the extra layers.

Lexi today told me she missed preschool and Mrs Shepherd and wants to write her a letter in addition to her other preschool teacher Miss Linda. This girl loves school! Can't wait til Kindergarten, although that's another story for another day. Let's just say my perfect Kinder teacher is moving to another school. Lexi said "I won't have a teacher next year?" poor girl is as crushed as her mother is. More to come.
