Off Track Adventures

We were off track April 30-May 8. Just 2 weeks. It was so nice, sleeping in, no homework, baseball and softball and playing. Non stop. BUT the rain also fell non stop. We missed games for a week due to rain outs. Usually not raining to hard but fields just too wet to play on. That gave us nights together as a family.

Some fun from our two week break.

Playing outside!

 Big sis helping Little Sis.

Playing catch, pitching practice or batting practice is a past time at our house in the spring.
Never got an official picture of Maddy in her uniform. She plays for the Green Fury. She has been playing a little catcher and second base but mostly left field.

We went with Tullis' and Wakely's to the Aquarium. We have never been before and were so excited to go. Jen has a pass. It's $20/person to get in. Thankful she could get us in for free! As always the fake animals are almost the funnest to be and take pictures at.

Here the kids are at the Penguins.
 See there's a swimmer.
And then you can walk around and see them from up top. They are so dang cute. Reminded me a lot of Sea World when we went a couple years ago.
We also saw a 4D movie. The knobs in the back of the seat, blow air and water at you even under your seat at your feet and then vibrate. It was quite the show!! Lots of giggles. Love these 2 10 year olds.
The kids all wanted to sit in different areas. So Jen took the little girls up front, Kami and Maddy and I were in the middle kindof back by the boys who were in the back row. We almost had the place to ourselves.
Loved the big rainforest where we saw little frogs like this one. They were hiding and fun to find. There were also birds flying around and it really was humid feeling like a rainforest!
They had a rope bridge. Attempted to get a pic of all the kids at the same time but it never happened!

Then we went to touch the star fish and sting rays, I shouldn't say we I should say Lexi. Me and the other 3 were to chicken! Lexi is a brave girl.

And then we went passed the shark tank. Love Abby looking up she's not so sure about this glass tunnel we were in!

We then went to the playground inside to let the kids run and play and then headed home to baseball. Huh, shocker huh. Fun afternoon to play with and hang out with our friends. Thanks Jen!

Another night outside playing.

Lots of flowers blooming in the yard. I'm grateful my tulips bloomed in the front this year, last year they didn't and I missed them. The lilacs are in bloom right now. Mmm, one of my fav smells! Also remind me of Grams. Oh how I miss her.
Another rainy afternoon, $5 Tuesday in fact, we took the kids to see the Jungle Book. We had a gift card from Christmas and popcorn buckets in the pantry. Lilly got a little bored but with snacks in my bag she made it through the movie. Loved the music, the animation of the animals and it was really well done.

I worked as much as possible while not making Mike too insane being at home trying to find a job and watch kids. I feel bad, I worked 7/10 days and Mike even left the kids at home some times for interviews and what not. BUT they didn't complain and were glad to go when we could. They went to work one day to make money. So grateful I have a job that I can work at, family to see when I go and a paycheck to help offset our financial costs right now. Sounds silly but I don't want to use our savings, it's for emergency's. I keep forgetting this is what it is there for.

We went skating or rode our scooters and bikes at Classic one afternoon. I met them there after work and then Mike headed to Ump a game. He has being doing that for a little extra cash. Anything and everything counts. Glad for anything we can do to offset costs. Lexi was sad, during our off track she wanted to go to Disneyland. Lol, def not in the budget!

But the little things we did were fun and just like that we are back to school. It is also very nice that the Tullis' are off when we are. Lexi and Jack play with Abby and Ryan, Maddy played a lot with Grace and Lilly still has school 2 days a week for a couple more weeks. We are back in school til July 1 and then unfortunately start again July 25. WOW! Short summer but we'll still have lots of fun and make fun when we can.
