The Sun Goddesses save the day!

I was working Friday, and saw this on IG and thought oh great, we are headed camping. That's the last thing we need is a rain god party at school. Jack said it was fun, but sure enough the clouds started to appear and the drips dropping. I was ready to back out of camping, except that our tent was up at the Spruces. The night before Mike generously slept the night there so we could camp the following night. There were no reservations available just walk up spots. So we got a spot for 2 nights. He left in the morning after a sleepless night and went to work. I decided to pack lightly but pack just in case the rain stopped and we decided to stay. It was supposed to rain ALL NIGHT long.

So when we arrived at camp, the sun Goddesses saved the day and did an opposite dance. The sun dance! It was sprinkling but worked. We didn't get any more drops of weather! Til we were on our way home.

We were prepared and used the canopy to start a fire--our way of cooking hot dog dinner for the night.

The girls have matching attire being on the same softball teams.
Abby and Lexi also!
And then the cats came out of the bag.

Lilly LOVES Gage, he always can get a smile on her face.
At night, the glow bracelets came out and the kids had a great time. We sang songs around the camp fire, roasted smores and star burst and stayed til the wood ran out. We brought the wood from the pallet projects we did in RS and it burned really fast!

These two!!
Mike cooked dutch over cobbler. It was yummy! In the morning, he cooked pancakes. I'll admit the scratch recipe is so much better than the Kroger mix. BUT they were still tasty.

We even added blueberries and whip cream to them.

It's a good thing the boys went up early and camped overnight because Friday we arrived to this sign! Spruces was so fun, it was chilly at night, as usual I didn't sleep much but everyone else seemed to. The moon was bright, the stars were amazing, the company was fabulous and I even got happier as the sun came out and probably food filled my belly. I was not happy it was supposed to be rainy!

haha this is really our picture from 7 peaks! snuck in here.

Mike ran down the canyon 8 miles as part of his training for his half marathon that is Saturday. We played games and cards and enjoyed the afternoon but had to get home because the canyon was closing at 2 for the Utah bike race going down big cottonwood canyon and then my class reunion was that night also. Best of times!
