Zoo

Day 2 of Fall Break we headed to the Zoo. In the summer, we bought a family pass and hadn't been back since. The Zoo was a popular place to visit. Even though we had to hike to park, the Zoo is so wide open that the crowds didn't seem to bad. The animals were out and enjoying the sunshine and cooler weather.

We all took a spin on the carousel. Even Lilly didn't mind the round and round circles!

A baby giraffe was born Sept 23. It was only 3 weeks old and already over 6 ft tall. He was so cute to watch walk around.

We also watched the elephants for a long time. Just as we came up to them, they were given a big squash to eat. The baby elephant Zuri quickly took her squash to the corner and ate it as fast as she could. The mom finished hers quick and went over to help Zuri. She wasn't going to stand for that, picked up her squash and ran to the other side. The mom then did the elephant noise over the fence were the zoo worker was asking for another. It was so entertaining. Even Lilly got a kick out of it.

We enjoyed watching the sea lions swim, the polar bear was also out and the new grizzly bears. It was a fun day at the Zoo.
