Summer Time part II

We could have stayed 2 nights in Burley but wanted to be back for Josh's homecoming in Kamas. So we arose and showered and headed up to Kamas. We got diverted on had to take a detour because of the Tour of Utah bike race. Glad we were running ahead of schedule.

The meeting was wonderful. Josh and his mission President Pres Pace spoke on change. After we went to my Dad's for lunch.

We were so excited to meet Brody's girlfriend, Zont'l who came even though Brody was away working.
She is darling. We chatted and joked and laughed. She kept trying to leave but I wouldn't let her. We almost got her on a horse again! (she went with my dad the previous Saturday on a 5 hour ride--talk about getting to know someone).

Chad and Anna were also at the party. It was so fun to see them, they are moving back to Salt Lake in 2 weeks. Hope we get to see them more often!
Brody asked me to take photo's and send them to him since he was in ND at work. So I have lots of random pics.

Cutest cousins! Beckett and Lillian

Maddy and baby Sawyer
Grandpa even saddled up the horse for the grand-kids. Lilly was convinced she needed to ride with Grandma but I threw her up and away she went!

The chickens even joined the party.

Always a great time at G&G Buddy's house!

We enjoyed a busy week before we headed back to school. Here is some of what we did before school started again.

Thursday August 15:
The zoo!
We choose a crazy day to come. It was a free day for health care people. The parking lot was insane as was the gate to get in, but once we were in the crowds dispersed to different areas and we had a great time and didn't notice it was packed!

We arrived just in time to see the rhinoceroses eating. I've honestly only seen them sleeping, it was fun to see them up close. This was Princess and she was a messy eater! But then again she was eating a whole bunch of celery at one time!
Here's the cousin shot.

As the afternoon grew on, the heat came! It got hot. We were really melting and running out of water! So we headed back to the car. We also got to see the sea lions and seals and watch the zoo keepers feed them. In addition to the bird show and then as we left we saw the giraffes eating. Did you know a giraffe's tongue is 18". WOW!

We headed to Grammies house and then back home for scouts and tumbling and of course a slurpee's to cool us off.

Wednesday: Aug 12: We were invited to go have a water party at Camille's parents house. It has been a couple years since we have been and it is always a big hit. Janae (Camille's mom) made snow cones and cotton candy practically the whole time we were there! It was also a super hot day! Thansk again Camille and Janae for opening up your place to us. We never did go out and see the animals. Lilly had hit her max and needed a nap. She has been waking up at 5 am.
But the water cooled them off.

And so did the water balloon launch.
Jessica and Rachel were good sports and held the launcher. I honestly just chatted the whole afternoon. Haven't seen some of these ladies for a long time. I missed them! We just are so busy we don't get time to sit and talk but are so glad for a fun day that got us together and let us do that talk!

Lexi started Ballet lessons in August. She reminds me all day that it is ballet day. She is so excited. I thought she would want to take Jazz or something more up beat but she wanted to take ballet. My mom, was a ballerina and I'm tickled pink Lexi wants to be also.
 Tuesday: August 11.

Happy 16th Anniversary Mike! We celebrated later that evening by going to the temple and dinner and then renting a movie at home. We left Maddy to babysit and decided to skip the movie at the theater and just rent a red box.

Earlier that day. This happened!!

Can you believe my baby had her first day of preschool and in August! Early August also. Today she got to go with Mom and try out preschool. It is a new school (for us anyway). Her teacher is Mrs. Donna. She has been teaching for over 30 years, her "baby" is a  senior in High School she said she has even taught children of students she has previously taught (if that makes sense).

She is wearing her sparkly new school shoes. She calls them this every time she wears them.
School was a success and she goes back for a full day and without mom next week. I thought she may be more nervous that she was because she does NOT want to go to nursery anymore. No reasons, just isn't interested but preschool she said "mom I'll be brave and not cry" and walked right in!

Friday: We enjoyed dinner at Willow Park for a ward campout. I was so impressed with how many were staying over night. We declined for lots of reasons and instead came to Thanksgiving Point with cousins to watch a movie at dark. This was the only photo I took of the movie. BUT we had a great time, Lexi fell asleep but the rest of us stayed awake to watch Big Hero 6.

Not a bad way to end summer. School officially starts Monday! And we are ready to go back. The summer break was perfect, we had about 7 weeks. Kids are ready to go back and it'll be nice to get back on a routine. Hopefully Maddy will start sleeping also! She did break out in hives Saturday. Not sure what happened or why. This girl is full of emotions lately. Heaven help me I've got 3 daughters!
