Day 10-Songs you listen to when you're bored, happy, sad, mad, hyped
I have to admit I don't have a favorite song rather songs that depict my mood or moods of the day, so this post is perfect for me. Sometimes, I am all into the rock songs like when I went through a phase in high school loving KBear and singing just about anything to Def Leppard one of my favorites is "Have you ever needed someone so bad", but then the next minute I am singing the blues away with Grease "Hopelessly devoted to you" and Olivia Newton John. I remember being talked into listening to Country music by Jennifer Solt and swore I'd never be a country fan. I love country music. At basketball practice we would warm up to Garth's "Callin' Baton Rouge." I remember dragging state and dancing and singing with friends to Faith Hill, Shania Twain and Reba and George. I love listening to the radio and hearing songs from the oldies, the 80's, 90's, and today that bring me back to a memory.
My hubby loves U2 and thankfully I just found the tickets to the concert that we were supposed to attend last summer which was postponed til May because Bono got sick (the tickets got misplaced when we moved and then moved again-although I told Mike "I'm putting the tickets here so I don't loose them", "Ok" he said and then neither or us could remember where I put them and still misplaced them. Not that I enjoy Lexi tearing through my drawers but she did find the tickets on Friday). So, I also like U2, my favorite song is probably "Hawk Moon" but "Desire" is right up there ok and so is "With or without you" .
Some other favs are "Fishing in the dark" by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, " and the theme song to Tarzan "You'll be in my heart" reminds me of my wedding video as does "I cross my heart" by George Strait. But then whenever we are in the car my kids always ask for their "kids songs" and I also enjoy singing along to Dr Jean's Silly Songs (except she drives me crazy pretty fast) "Going on a bear hunt" is probably our family favorite.
While this is just a start, I'm grateful for music and the moods it lets me be in.

Somehow I can hear you all at the tops of your voices belting out "Goin' on a Bear Hunt" as the van saunters down the highway. That, by the way, is really the only one on your list I am completely familiar with. Our generations are probably most divided by the music we listen to. It's been that way for as long as I've known, too. Not saying I don't enjoy the same music, it just seems like the older we get the more we fall back on the oldies we enjoyed when younger (or at least Brent does - hence me as well).
I love fishing in the Dark!!
Seriously.. of the 20 country songs I like.. that is one.
I am with you.. a HUGE variety is what I like.. :)
Thought I commented on this - guess not.
Love me some "Fishin' in the Dark". Have to tell you a story about that song sometime.... Holy flashback batman!!! "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad" just came on your music on the blog!!! LOVE it!!! I totally went through a "Hair band" phase too. Must be our generation. Bill always laughs at me whenever a song by Def Leppard or some other hair band comes on & I know all the words!! Although, he knows a lot of them too. Gosh I love this song!!
Um.....did we go to the George Strait/Faith Hill concert together? I swear we did! It was at the Delta Center! That was my first concert ever & what made me become a huge Faith fan!! I'm with you, love listening to songs that bring me back to the good 'ol days!! :)
