Cruising back to the USA

The last 2 days of the cruise were cruising back up the coast to the USA. Friday was beautiful. We all enjoyed the day soaking in the uv rays!   And eating and eating and eating. Today they pulled out a chocolate buffet.

The sunset tonight was gorgeous, no clouds covering the horizon. We even remembered to bring our camera and take pictures! I love watching the sun set into the ocean! It also sets really early, it was about 4:30 every night.

Going
Going
Gone!
It was super windy!
Going back home it always is.

Dinner tonight was dressy. For every meal you can eat at the buffet but for dinner we always sit down and eat. They serve the same food at the buffet but it is a lot more fun to be served dinner and eat together. They start out with appetizers. We sampled a lot of the unique food. Mike even ate frog legs, I opted out on that one. This cruise lets you order as many of each thing served as you want. I always ordered a salad or soup and then something else. Dinner was the same and then dessert.

One of my favorite parts of dinner was watching the servers dance for us. The servers are almost all from other country's, the speak very well English but all have a little flare of their home country in them. This was our waiter Jorge, he was from Peru. The one in the back ground was Diego and he had some moves! He was fun to watch dancing.
After dinner we had a group picture taken.
Taylor, Kinzee, Mike, Alex, Jake, Brody, Tia, Nick, Chad, Emma, Anna, Tifani, Steve, Josh

Here's our friend who greeted us tonight.
Saturday was windy and a little cooler so we played lots and lots of cards and games. No one really minded, Jake and Alex brought a suitcase full of games so we had plenty to do. We called this corner our go to games table, the last night someone stole it from us.  I pretty much was at the scum or 2nd scum the entire cruise. We also played Rook, Ticket to Ride, the Bang game or whatever you call it, Phase Ten, Canasta.

Saturday night this was left on our bed.

We packed everything up and were ready to leave bright and early the next morning. I was very anxious to see my babies. International cell phone calls are outrageous so we didn't call home and check on anyone. Some of us in the group did however, lol, Tia called to check on her dogs. Josh of course to see how his love was at home.
This is what we came home to. Well this and dinner and a clean house, laundry, groceries and 4 hugs!
Thanks again Brent and Julie for taking care of the kids.
Julie just posted the kids Thanksgiving break with them.
What a fun week the kids had also.
Hope that's ok Julie!

Wait...isn't 4:30 sunset normal? It is totally dark here at 4:30 every day. Ick, right?

I am so ready for a cruise right now. This whole trip looked amazing, the time around the table playing games looks just as great as your big adventure. Thanks for letting us take a virtual piggyback on board with you, and for making us all sickeningly jealous.

Looks wonderful!!!

And Julie sounds wonderful.
Babysitting, a banner, dinner, and a clean house? Every one needs a Julie!

So grateful you had such a fun time!

#1 - the house was NOT clean.
#2 - the week was Wonderful almost the entire time ... except for the moments when it wasn't, but that's life. I loved the opportunity to get to be a 'Mom' again for a short while ... there's something really special about cuddling a baby in the middle of the night.
#3 - the kids did the banner totally by themselves - aren't they creative???? And they blew up all the balloons (Jack has impressive lungs), and they were so, so, so excited to have their parents come home!
#4 - Next time I vote that we go on the cruise with you - what a fun week you guys had! Everything just looked like a much needed escape, which is exactly what a vacation is supposed to be. And I agree with Julie J.- playing games looked as fun as everything else! maybe we need a game night - reserve the church and hire some teenagers to play with all the kids there while we go to a house and play games all night ... just a thought.

(No problem tagging the photos, you know that. I need to do something on the blog but may not get anywhere with it until after Christmas.)
