We arrived at City Creek and awed over how pretty it is. I love the covered gateway walk The food court is amazing. We rode on LOTS of escalators to my children's delite and to my delight got to see the candy windows on display at Macy's. Amazing! Hard to tell in the pictures but a lot of candy and a lot of work went into the 3 window displays.
Maddy was sad we didn't have time to shop at all the stores. I was too. Next time.
We arrived at Temple Square and went to make a wish. Thanks Grama for supplying the money for our wishes.
I think Maddy's wish came true! She's so excited.
We quickly walked over to the Visitor's Center and just missed the Nativity. We attempted to go inside to see the Christus and it was blocked off (not really blocked but they currently were not letting more people up top til it emptied). We only had a short time to be at the temple grounds because we had an appointment scheduled to see Santa. Maddy wanted to see the Christus. It was a very hard choice of what to see the Christus or Santa Claus. We walked to the other side of the Nativity and were able to look across to the Christus. I love the crowds at Temple Square wanting to feel of the Season and remember the birth of our Savior. I wish we had more time to partake of that spirit. I was worried we didn't capture that feeling until I asked Lexi what her favorite part of the night was. She said seeing the temple and making a wish! Phew! It was magical.
It was cold but really not unbearable even tho the thermometer said 31' when we got back in the car. I guess being all bundled up helped. Lilly was a champ. Her cute hat (well Lexi's really) was over eyes so much and she didn't mind or fuss. It helped that someone was almost always carrying her, Lexi decided she needed to be pushed in the stroller that we brought for Lilly. I almost brought 2, next time I will!
Look at this ONE tree. How many lights do they use? It is amazing!
Lexi loved the water at the Temple Grounds and at City Creek. After the lights we walked over to the Nordstrom's Cafe and had a sugar cookie and hot cocoa. Lexi left us inside the cafe and went outside all by herself to see/play/touch the water.
Thanks Grampa & Grama for coming with us.
And esp thanks Grampa for the ride:)
